PlaceSpeak is excited to announce our first topic in the United Kingdom!
About the Holywood Public Realm Works
North Down Borough Council with the Department of Social Development and URS are currently carrying out a public consultation on their proposed Holywood Public Realm Works. These works are designed to improve the Holywood town centre streetscape. Holywood Chamber of Commerce is working with PlaceSpeak, an online public consultation platform to ensure as many people as possible are aware of the consultation and contribute.
The consultation runs until the 13th September 2013 and gives local businesses and the wider community the opportunity to share their opinions on the planned works and to make additional recommendations.
The PlaceSpeak website has an overview and detailed drawings of the planned works. There is also an opportunity to complete the short survey URS have prepared and participate in discussion forums. This information will be collated and sent to the council.
About PlaceSpeak
PlaceSpeak is a location-based community consultation platform. Their mission is to promote authentic meaningful dialogue on local issues. Based in Vancouver, Canada, PlaceSpeak are currently working with a Holywood based Business Development Consultant, Invest NI and the University of Ulster to establish their UK and Ireland R&D and Business Development HQ in Northern Ireland. They are providing their services for free for this project to assist the Chamber. PlaceSpeak is available on a subscription model for any organisation that needs to engage directly with the public and collect authenticated evidence.
In the coming months there will be a wider Holywood Masterplan so the Holywood Chamber of Commerce are keen to engage with the Council and Department of Social Development to ensure the voices of their members are heard.
