New Team Members
PlaceSpeak would like to introduce Lauren, Gareth and George, three of the newest members of our team.
Lauren Allard is a Vancouver native who recently completed a geography degree with a concentration in Urban and Development studies at the University of Victoria. Through her studies, Lauren developed interests in creating high quality,sustainable urban environments and public consultation as a vital part of the planning process. PlaceSpeak appealed to her as a consultation platform that aligns with many of her interests.
Gareth Johnson is a junior web developer at PlaceSpeak. He works with the code to help put the team’s ideas online. Gareth studied at the University of Northern British Columbia and the University of Victoria before graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Honours. Since then, he has worked with tech startups in and around Vancouver. Gareth enjoys software development as a creative outlet and likes writing about himself in third person.
George Parker is an urban planner with experience in research, land use, and geographic information systems. He has taught survey design and analysis, and is comfortable handling both quantitative and qualitative data. With a background in municipal political science and urban geography, He sees PlaceSpeak as a ground-breaking technology for improved citizen engagement and evidence-based decision-making.
Lauren, Gareth, and George will be working on some exciting projects for PlaceSpeak over the next several months. Stay tuned for more information!
