Tag Your ‘Hood!
Share
The City of Vancouver and PlaceSpeak want you to Tag your ‘hood! Enter your design and it could become the official emblem for your neighbourhood. The contest is open to submissions until June 24, 2011.
The objective of Tag your ‘hood is to come up with an Emblem or Symbol for each neighbourhood that most accurately captures the unique essence or character of that community. What comes to mind when you think of Shaughnessy, Killarney, Dunbar or Sunset? Is it a favorite park, the view, or a monumental building? Submissions will be voted on by residents verified through PlaceSpeak as residing within the boundaries of each neighbourhood. The winning submissions will be featured on the City’s new community web pages and throughout the City of Vancouver. The winners will be rewarded as part of the 125th Anniversary celebrations culminating with a photo op with the Mayor.
Canadian citizens of all ages are eligible to design an emblem for any of the 26 neighbourhoods. We want to see how creative you can get while portraying the elements of each community that you are proud of. The deadline for submissions is June 24th 2011; PlaceSpeak will then display all of the emblems on our website and encourage residents across Vancouver to vote for their favourite design. This will be your opportunity to invite your friends to vote for you!
