PlaceSpeak founder and CEO, Colleen Hardwick, and Michelle Aucoin—our Executive Director of Business Development & Stakeholder Relations—are in Winnipeg, Manitoba this week to attend the International Association of Public Participation Practitioners (IAP2) North American 2014 Conference. This is a great opportunity to learn about what our colleagues are doing and look at new developments in the practice of public engagement and online consultation.
The annual event is expected to attract more than 150 attendees to Winnipeg and will feature 25 lectures and workshops on public engagement. The theme of this year’s conference is Reflecting Forward—Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow. Sessions will cover online engagement, case studies in resource and major infrastructure projects, the coming generation of P2 pros, how story-telling can ignite engagement, Indigenous peoples’ issues, “Try a Technique”, and what a committed, engaged community can accomplish.
This year, PlaceSpeak will be participating in the Technology Fair, as one of the online developers and distributors of the ever-growing roster of new tools to help you bring more people into your P2 process.
If you are in Winnipeg this week, be sure to look out for Colleen and Michelle.
