Johann Starke joins PlaceSpeak Board of Directors
PlaceSpeak today announced that Johann Starke, President & CEO of FCV Interactive, has joined the PlaceSpeak board of directors.
Starke founded FCV Interactive in 2005 and has helped it become one of Canada’s most successful digital transformation agencies, recognized for delivering results for enterprises and governments. He had previously been an advisor to the company as well as an early-stage angel investor.
“Johann is one of the success stories in Vancouver’s fast-growing tech sector with expertise in open government and digital transformation. He immediately understood the implications of digital identity authentication to place,” said PlaceSpeak founder and CEO, Colleen Hardwick. “FCV undertook the original front end design for PlaceSpeak, and Johann has been a trusted advisor throughout. It is great that he is now joining the Board and will be more involved in helping to advance PlaceSpeak to the next level of sophistication.”
“I have always admired PlaceSpeak for its innovative platform, and I am honoured to be joining their board,” said Starke. “I have a lot of respect for Colleen and the other board members, and I look forward to working together.”
Starke graduated from the University of Colorado with bachelor’s degree in finance and computer information systems and was an early employee of Expedia in Seattle. He has been recognized as one of Business in Vancouver’s Top Forty Under 40 and as a finalist for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Pacific Region.
At FCV, he has led the company’s geographic expansion and delivered consistent revenue growth for more than a decade – FCV has been repeatedly listed in the PROFIT 500, the definitive ranking of Canada’s Fastest-Growing Companies.
