Brett Anderson and Christina Kapur Join the PlaceSpeak Team
PlaceSpeak is pleased to announce that Brett Anderson and Christina Kapur have joined the team!
Hailing from small-town Manitoba, Brett spent most of his childhood exploring the outdoors, playing hockey, and tinkering with computers. A Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba left him unsatisfied, and after a few months of travelling abroad, he enrolled in the Business Information Technology program from Red River College. After completing the program, Brett hit the road with his partner set on starting a life in Vancouver. Within a few weeks of job-searching he discovered PlaceSpeak. His work with Open Democracy Manitoba helped convince Colleen and the team that he was a perfect fit. Brett is now a Software Developer for PlaceSpeak, working on usability issues and fixing bugs.
Christina Kapur is an experienced communications and marketing professional with demonstrated success across several industries including government, technology and real estate. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Royal Roads University and a post-graduate certificate in Public Relations from the University of Toronto.
Christina has worked internationally for the European Parliament and global public relations firm Weber Shandwick in Brussels, Belgium. Christina is also familiar with the start-up environment having previously supported business development activities for the University of Victoria’s technology transfer office.
As Communications Specialist at PlaceSpeak, Christina will be part of the Sales and Marketing team and focus her time on communications and marketing activities including social media management, brand awareness, media relations and outreach.
